AXT INC
202 institutions still hold AXT INC as of Q1 2026. Tracked across SEC 13F-HR filings, with insider and 13D/G activity surfaced alongside.
AXT Inc.'s tracked institutional ownership is barely a club: eight 13F filers hold a combined $78.6 million, and one of them controls nearly all of it. Assenagon Asset Management S.A., a Luxembourg-registered manager, holds $73.7 million — about 94% of every institutional dollar in the stock. That concentration would be a footnote in a quiet quarter; it is the whole story in this one, because Assenagon sold. Its share count fell from 1,505,354 to 1,022,988, a reduction of 482,366 shares, or almost exactly one-third of the position, even as the dollar value of what remains dropped by only $12.0 million — arithmetic that only works if AXT's per-share price climbed sharply during the quarter (roughly $57 implied a quarter ago versus roughly $72 now). Assenagon sold into strength, and it sold enough that most companies would call the move material.
The other seven holders do not offset it. Ardsley Advisory Partners LP opened the only new position that carries real weight — 25,000 shares worth $1.79 million, coincidentally the same share count Atlas Brown, Inc. now holds after trimming its own stake from 31,650 shares. Everything else booked as 'new' this quarter is closer to a rounding error: TEMA ETFs LLC's $104,804, Carolina Wealth Advisors' $5,838, and GAMMA Investing LLC's $2,307 combined do not add up to a tenth of what Assenagon shed. Park Edge Advisors and Silverleafe Capital Partners also cut share counts (down 10.5% and 9.1%, respectively) despite posting small dollar gains from the same price move. Three of eight tracked holders trimmed shares this quarter, and no new entrant came close to replacing what left. For a stock this thinly covered, one filer's next 13F will move the institutional narrative more than the other seven combined.
