MASTEC INC
862 institutions still hold MASTEC INC as of Q1 2026. Tracked across SEC 13F-HR filings, with insider and 13D/G activity surfaced alongside.
MasTec's institutional base shows a sharp split between its largest and smallest holders this quarter. Assenagon Asset Management, still the top holder at 43.2% of MTZ's $124.5 million in tracked institutional value, cut its stake nearly in half — shares down 49.4% (255,222 to 129,199), a $28.4 million reduction that was easily the largest sale among MTZ's 44 institutional holders. Community Trust & Investment Co, the second-largest holder at 24.7% of the book, trimmed a similar 32.9% of its shares. Both sales came during a quarter when MTZ's share price rose roughly 29%, meaning the two largest holders used the rally to take real profits rather than simply watch their stakes appreciate. Underneath that selling, a different pattern emerged: PensionDanmark nearly doubled its position (93.7% more shares), CoreCap Advisors grew its stake 200-fold (from 5 shares to 1,001), and four new holders — including Veracity Capital LLC and Fulton Bank — opened fresh positions. The stock's biggest institutional owners are cashing in gains that its smaller and newer holders are just beginning to build.
